Record Store Day 2010

Thursday, January 28, 2010

This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, djs spinning records and on and on. Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in San Franscisco on April 19, 2008 and Record Store Day is now celebrated the third Saturday every April.

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Dear members and friends:

Thanks you for all your support over the holidays. Vinyl continues to be very strong for us, so we are continuing to add lots of both new and used titles (and sale pricing many of the older titles!).

Also, Indy CD has partnered with Vice Magazine and Scion to bring you free 7”‘s each month (or so). Right now, get the first installment of the Scion A/V Garage 7” featuring exclusive tracks from the Spits and Dan Melchior for free while supplies last.

We also have the new limited, numbered, self-released 7” from Margot & The Nuclear So & So’s! There are only 1,000 of these things, and we have them in two colors of vinyl! Get them while they’re hot!
