“Vinyl Saturdays” presented by Indy CD & Vinyl and Record Store Day
Tuesday, June 02, 2009After the whopping success of the 2009 Record Store Day, the folks with RSD are trying something new: every third Saturday of the month at Indy CD & Vinyl (as well as other participating record stores nationwide) will be “VINYL SATURDAY,” with exclusive vinyl releases from your favorite artists!
The first Record Store Day Presents Vinyl Saturday will be on Saturday, June 20th and will feature a special GREEN DAY 7” single that is limited to 4000 total being made. Each single is numbered. The 7” will feature two tracks. Side A is “Know Your Enemy” and Side B is “Hearts Collide” (a previously unreleased track.)
Vinyl Saturday will also see the release of a new limited edition PETE YORN 7” single and it will feature a duet with Scarlett Johansson and an unreleased demo track.
Another featured release is the exclusive 7” record by WILCO. This is a special 7” single being released 10 days before new album, WILCO (The Album) comes out on June 30th. This is a limited (3800) run that includes these tracks: “You Never Know” b/w “Unlikely Japan” (an early 2003 version of the track “Impossible Germany,” previously unreleased.)
Not to be left out of the Vinyl Saturday festivities is MODEST MOUSE. There is a series of Modest Mouse 7” singles being released (the first of which streets next week). The second in the series is scheduled for a June 23rd street date, available at Indy CD & Vinyl early for this event. This second piece is called “Autumn Beds” and the B-Side is “Whale Song”.
The featured exclusive full-length vinyl releases are by EARTH, PATTERSON HOOD, THOU, and WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM.
